Fruits Basket Season 3 English Dub Version to Premiere on Funimation Two Weeks Early

I hope you don't have any plans for this coming Friday morning because Funimation knows what fans want and is delivering in a big, big way!

In an announcement posted to their official blog on Monday, March 15th, Funimation revealed plans to premiere the first dubbed episode of Fruits Basket Season 3 two entire weeks before it premieres in Japan on Friday, March 19th. The time for the premiere is set for 9 am Pacific/12 pm Eastern and will feature special guests from the dub cast including Eric Vale (Yuki Soma), Jerry Jewell (Kyo Soma), Ian Sinclair (Kureno Soma), Colleen Clinkenbeard (Akito Soma), and Brina Palencia (Isuzu Soma).

This is on top of last week's big reveal of a brand new promotional video which showed new story beats which were paired with the theme song reveals of WARPs UP performing the opening theme song titled "Pleasure" and GENIC performing the ending theme song titled "Haru Urarara" (Beautiful Spring).

Originally a shojo manga that ran from 1998 to 2006 in Hana to Yume magazine, the series was released in 23 volumes and ran as an anime in 2001, which Funimation licensed way back in the day. In 2019, a brand new anime adaptation, which has the original creator, Natsuki Takaya, serving as an executive supervisor, began airing with the second season premiering a year later. Now, in 2021, we're all finally going to get to see the thrilling conclusion that fans have been wanting for over a dozen years.

The manga was originally licensed in English by Tokyopop, who released the volumes individually before putting out "Ultimate Editions". Once Tokyopop ceased to exist, the license was taken over by Yen Press, who re-released the series in omnibus editions starting in 2016. Yen Press has also released the special spinoff series Fruits Basket: Three Musketeers Arc as a digital simulpub in 2019.

Fruits Basket is one of those special series that only comes along once every couple of decades and it's a miracle that fans have gotten to experience it in three different decades now (the 00s, 10s, and 20s)! One of the most anticipated series of the season (if not the entire year), Fruits Basket Season 3 is certain to deliver a banquet-sized helping of feels when it premieres on your preferred anime streaming service!
