The practice match between Souwa High and Nouin High continues in this episode of Burning Kabaddi, and things are not looking good for the Nouin team. Thanks to a skilled raider on Souwa's side and the use of some tactics that Yoigoshi isn't already aware of, the Souwa team builds a commanding lead which leads to Nouin's secret weapon to enter the match and almost even things up as the first half comes to a close!

Burning Kabaddi airs in the early morning hours on Saturday in Japan, which means it will stream outside of Japan on Friday, May 14th.

As mentioned, Burning Kabaddi airs early on Saturday at 1:23 am Japan Standard Time. It then streams on Crunchyroll a couple of hours later:

So last week while talking about this series I mentioned that at the halfway mark it was finally starting to grow on me and those feelings increased just a bit this week. Burning Kabaddi is kind of like moss in that if you sit through enough of it, you'll find that it's grown on you very slowly without you even noticing.

This sports series is not the most intense in anime history but much like the star players on either side of the court right now, it has some impressive moves and moments which will make you pay attention to the action even if only momentarily. I would be shocked if it comes up with a way to make me really want a second season at this point, but then again stranger things have happened in the anime world.

Burning Kabaddi isn't brilliant, but it's doing its job of calling attention to an unknown manga and an even more unknown sport, which is really all you can ask for from a series like this. It's entertaining for the time being, but the odds of me going back to it after its conclusion are still pretty slim at this point.
