Ever since Emperor Palpatine’s familiar cackle was heard in The Rise of Skywalker’s first trailer, Star Wars fans have been excited and curious to see how the Sith Lord will make his return in the highly-anticipated movie. Multiple theories regarding how he would look like have made the rounds on the internet, and now, fans can finally get a good look at the Emperor.

Following the premiere of The Rise of Skywalker on Monday night, some photos of Palpatine have already been leaked on Reddit. We don’t know how he exactly survived the fall in Return of the Jedi, but regardless of what happened, his face turned into this.

Some of the fans pointed out that a few of his wrinkles went away, compared to how he looked before with very distinct creases on his face.  Of course, the character is still as scary and monstrous just like how he has always been. Others pointed out that his robe was supposed to be red, according to the leaks, but fans assumed that the Emperor hasn’t been rejuvenated in this scene yet.

It is important to note that since there are leaks that are already going around, some fans would still want to watch the upcoming movie, spoiler-free. So if you plan on sharing or commenting regarding the Emperor’s return, keep it as spoiler-free as possible.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
