Star Wars: The Mandalorian Original Novel Gets Delayed

Earlier this summer, Disney and Lucasfilm announced a publishing line that'll explore deeper into the world of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. While the arrival of the show's second season gets closer, fans will have to wait a little longer for the original novel.

Initially set for release this December, Del Rey's original novel by Adam Christopher about The Mandalorian has been delayed to Fall 2021. Its specific release date is yet to be announced. You can check out the publishing company's update through Twitter below:

It looks like most of the publishing line's content is on track, unfortunately, the novel was pushed back. Not much is known about the plot, but it is expected to take place in the same timeline as the live-action series, along with an original story that's not an adaptation of the first or second season.

While there was no reason given about the delay, it's likely due to the coronavirus pandemic that might have caused manufacturing delays. There's also the possibility that the new date could give the book a clear space to perform well on its own and serve as the big title for that season.

That being said, there's still more novels to look forward to later this year, including the Poe Dameron: Free Fall to be released this August, Chaos Rising in September, and The High Republic: Light of the Jedi on January 2021.
