Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now available for digital download and is also arriving at Disney+ on May 4th. Given that this is the final installment of the Skywalker Saga, it's no secret that some footage was left on the cutting room floor, however, there aren't extra clips included in the home release. This then led a fan to launch a petition for the House of Mouse to release the deleted scenes.

The petition was made by user Sith Loyalist, saying that Disney made an "unprecedented move" of not including deleted scenes. The user also pointed out that this is the first film of the sequel trilogy to be released without any deleted scenes. "This is a petition on behalf of the Star Wars fandom for Walt Disney to release all the deleted, extended, and alternate scenes for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," the petition reads.

While it would be cool to see some of the scenes that didn't make it in the final cut, it is unlikely for Disney to release these extra footage given that the studio seems to have always been set on not releasing extra footage. In addition, some fans think that the movie is so controversial that the Mouse House isn't ever going to release deleted scenes.

That said, it isn't exactly a bad idea and there is a portion of the fans that do want to see some stuff that got cut out since they think they were cool. There was even a rumor that J.J. Abrams had a 3-hour cut of the film, leading to some people, at one point, wanting that version to be revealed.
