The Rise of Skywalker serves as the final installment of the Skywalker Saga. Unfortunately, along with concluding this saga is the last time that fans would get to see some of their favorite Star Wars characters; including a minor legacy character.

This article contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The final battle between the Resistance and the Final Order did come with a cost. And although the debate with regards to who exactly survived the battle, it seems like Nien Nunb is one of those who, unfortunately, didn't make it.

The Sullustan smuggler and pilot has been part of the Resistance in the sequel trilogy. It seems like his death wasn't known by most fans, which is why some actually knew about it when writer Bryan Young recently shared it on Twitter.

Rae Carson also replied to Young's tweet, who was also mourning the character's death, which essentially confirms that Nien Nunb didn't really survive the Battle of Exegol. Carson is also a writer, with her prose dedicated to official Star Wars books, as well as The Rise of Skywalker Expanded Edition, which will be published later this year.

And while some fans have already known about this death following the movie's premiere, some were disappointed that it wasn't that noticeable in the film, which led to the character's death going completely over their heads. Of course, the character is not as significant as the heroes, but sure enough, a portion of the fandom would still mourn over him.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now showing in theaters.
