Although James Gunn is currently working on The Suicide Squad, the film is already on its final days of production and the director will soon work on the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie. While the script for the Marvel film has already been done prior to the release of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Gunn admits there were some unexpected things happening along the process.

On Monday night, Gunn held another Q&A session with his fans on Instagram. Someone asked him if Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was always how he pictured it to be and whether or not he altered something through his writing process. Gunn says it's "pretty close" to how he wanted it but revealed that "there are always surprises along the way." You can check out their exchange below.

There's very little information revealed about the film so far, but Nebula actress Karen Gillan has previously revealed that she has already read the script and described it as something "wonderful." She also believes that the threequel will be "the best of the trilogy" and that the cast is "really excited" to have Gunn back as their "fearless leader."

With only a couple of weeks until they wrap up the shoot for his DC movie, Marvel fans would soon get details about the Guardians sequel. In the meantime, fans could look out for Gunn's Q&A session on his account to learn more about the threequel.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is yet to have a release date while Gunn's The Suicide Squad is slated to hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
