General Pryde and Hux Were Originally in the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Opening Scene

The Rise of Skywalker made its debut last weekend and while Star Wars fans still have a lot to process, there are still multiple scenes that didn't make it into the final cut. One such scene included Domhnall Gleeson's General Hux and Richard E. Grant's General Pryde in the film's opening part of the film.

This article contains potential SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

If you've already watched Episode IX, you would know that you really can't even afford to blink or else you're probably going to miss something in the film. The opening scene was already action-packed since we saw Kylo Ren fighting off a handful of creatures in an unknown planet. However, in a recent interview with Kinowetter, Gleeson and Grant revealed that they were originally in the beginning of the film.

"The one time we weren't in the studio, it got cut," Gleeson said. The actors didn't specify which particular scene it was, but based off of Grant's description, it is very close to Kylo Ren's opening scene. "Yes, one time, we were in a battle scene, in a forest with Kylo Ren," Grant added. Unfortunately, their "bits got cut out" so Star Wars fans would have to wait for those clips "on the extras." When Grant talked about these extras, both actors just basically laughed it out with the interviewer.

As previously stated, the battle scene at the beginning of the movie only showed Kylo Ren. And although Gleeson and Grant confirmed they were in that scene, it is unclear as to what they were originally going to do and what their contributions could have been in that part. Regardless, it would have been cool to see them in action as well, and I do hope that we'd get to see those in the extras.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now showing in theaters.
