Thor: Love and Thunder is shaping up to be even crazier and bigger than its predecessor. With the film set to follow Natalie Portman's Jane Foster as she becomes the female Thor, is Chris Hemsworth set to pass on the mantle after Love and Thunder?

In a recent interview with Elle Man, Hemsworth was asked on the possibility of retiring from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to pass on the hammer to another actor. (Note: This interview was transcribed in Polish, the quotes translated using Google Translate may not be entirely accurate).

"Are you crazy?! I'm not going into any retirement period (laughs)," the actor said. "Thor is way too young for that. It is only 1500 years old!"

"It is definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand," Hemsworth added. "At least I hope so." While the actor isn't entirely certain about Thor's future in the MCU, it's clear that the God of Thunder won't be written out by the end of Love and Thunder or maybe anytime soon.

As for the upcoming film itself, Hemsworth says he had a "lot more fun" reading the script for Love and Thunder than he did in Ragnarok, which tells us that this fourth movie will certainly be something to look forward to.

With the production delay, director Taika Waititi saw this as an opportunity to refine the movie script. Filming is set to take place next year, with Love and Thunder set to use The Volume, a production technology used for Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters on March 25, 2022.
