Youtuber Warns Players Against Buying Loose MTG Ultimate Masters Box Toppers

Wizards of the Coast

Wizards of the Coast recently announcedMagic: The Gathering's last masters set "in a while", Ultimate Masters, and each box will include the Ultimate Box Topper that contains one of the forty premium cards that players can get. However, you buying them separately from third-party/eBay sellers is probably not the best way to get them, and YouTuber Thirleck proves why.

Watch the video below:

As you can see above, with the right angle and lighting, Thirleck was able to see the card inside the Ultimate Box Topper. Before cracking the pack, he guessed the card to be Temporal Manipulation and he turned out to be right.

Of course, this won't affect those who buy the Ultimate Masters booster box since the Ultimate Box Topper is sealed inside the box but for those considering to buy just the Ultimate Box Topper packs on eBay, it's definitely a problem. You wouldn't want to pay for a pack that won't contain one of the premium cards you really want. The pack itself says "Sealed Product Not For Resale" so if you want to get an Ultimate Box Topper with a better chance of getting the card you want, go buy a box of Ultimate Masters.

Ultimate Masters is set to release on December 7. MSRP price is $335.76 per box (only available in local game stores) and $34.99 per 3-pack blisterpack. It will only be available in English and Japanese.
