Upcoming Magic: The Gathering Releases Get Delays

Zendikar Rising and Commander Legends, the two upcoming Magic: The Gathering releases arriving this year, will get some delays, Wizards of the Coast announced. According to the company, some delays will experience delay at launch due to "production issues".

Shipments of Zendikar Rising, set to release on Septemer 25, will be arriving in North American locations in two waves. The first wave will be at the intended release date; the second wave will be shipped to stores 7 to 10 days after the first wave's launch, so that means that some locations may experience limited availability until the second wave arrives. Wizards also said that Bundles in North America and the Asia-Pacific region will be delayed but are unlikely to be available at launch.

Additionally, Commander Legends Collector Boosters, the new supplementary non-Standard set that combines the gameplay elements of Booster Draft and Commander, will be delayed two weeks from their planned release date of November 6 to November 20. Commander Legends Draft Booster Packs and Displays are expected to arrive on time.

This is not the first time WotC delayed MTG products in the COVID era this year; various MTG products like Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, Secret Lairs, and Commander Collection Green also saw delays in their production and shipment.

Zendikar Rising is set to release on September 25, 2020; it will release on MTG Arena on Sept. 17.
