Throne of Eldraine Will Have No Magic: The Gathering Rare Dual Land Cycle

Over 75+ Magic: The Gathering cards from Throne of Eldraine have officially been revealed but fans are still wondering if the fairy tale-themed expansion will still feature a cycle of rare dual land cards. Most new Magic sets usually feature a cycle of rare dual lands to help players make their mana base consistent for the Standard format but it looks like players will have to wait for next year's MTG sets to get their hands on a new cycle of rare dual lands.

On Friday, Magic head designer Mark Rosewater has confirmed that Throne of Eldraine will not feature a rare dual land cycle but expect to see a cycle of rare lands in the set. "There is not a rare dual land cycle although there is a rare land cycle," Rosewater said on his Blogatog. "They'll appear in other sets."

This is Rosewater's response to a fan who asked if there's a rare dual land cycle since he noticed that Eldraine has a monocolor theme with the Adamant Mechanic and "Witch's Cottage" card.

So far, Wizards of the Coast hasn't revealed any of the rare land cards from Throne of Eldraine but with the set releasing in a few weeks, expect the cards to be revealed soon.

Throne of Eldraine, the 82nd Magic expansion, is set to release on October 4 (Tabletop), and September 26 on Magic Arena. Prerelease events will take place on September 27 to 29.
