RoboCop Returns Will Feature Original Suit, According to Director Neill Blomkamp

Neill Blomkamp's RoboCop Returns is still in development. The film will be a direct sequel to the original 1987 Paul Verhoeven-directed movie, and director Neill Blomkamp has taken it to Twitter to share an update for the upcoming film.

Blomkamp shared some tweets about RoboCop Returns. The first one is info that the script is still being written. He also said that the film will honor Verhoeven's vision of RoboCop's world.

In Blomkamp's second tweet, he confirmed that they're planning to bring back RoboCop's original suit:

The last thing we heard about RoboCop Returns was that it was going to be rewritten by Justin Rhodes (Terminator: Dark Fate), based on a script by Michael Miner and Ed Neumier, writers of the original RoboCop film who put together a sequel script that was never used in the '80s.

There's still no official announcement if RoboCop Returns is actually coming but it sounds like they're making progress.
