Magic: The Gathering Throne of Eldraine Previews Reveal New White Fairy & Black Knight

The official preview season for the forthcoming Magic: The Gathering expansion Throne of Eldraine is approaching its end, and in addition to the other new cards revealed earlier today, Wizards of the Coast has revealed two more fairy tale-themed cards: one white fairy that shuts down enter-the-battlefield triggers and dying triggers, and a black knight creature with Adamant and Menace.

Check out "Hushbringer" and "Lochthwain Paladin":

Fairiies in MTG are usually blue or black but Throne of Eldraine will feature white fairies like "Hushbringer", and this one looks like a solid sideboard card you can board in against Elementals and other decks that run a lot of creautres with ETB or dying triggers. The artwork by Bastien L. Deharme looks so freaky it reminds me of an 80s music video.

This is not a bad draft pick for a four-drop common but I don't see this seeing a lot of play in competitive Standard format.

Throne of Eldraine, the 82nd Magic expansion, is set to release on October 4. Prerelease events will take place on September 27 to 29.
