Magic: The Gathering Formats For Q1 of MagicFest 2020 Revealed

Last week, Wizards of the Coast and CFB Events revealed the full schedule for MagicFest events next year, and today, they revealed the Magic: The Gathering formats the Grand Prix events of the first quarter 2020 MagicFests will be using.

Check out the MagicFest 2020 schedule and the formats for Q1 below:

So that's four Modern, three Limited, four Pioneer, and only two Standard Grand Prix events. Noticed the new Pioneer format there? Today, Wizards of the Coast announced the new Pioneer format, and it looks like they want to introduce this nonrotating format in a big way by having four Grand Prix events focused on that in Q1 2020. So far, WotC doesn't have plans to bring the Pioneer format for Magic Arena, only Magic Online, but I wish that they would eventually combine Historic and Pioneer in one format instead of requiring players to keep up with multiple new formats next year.

Which Grand Prix events are you planning to attend? Are you excited to play the new Pioneer formats in MagicFests? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
