Magic: The Gathering Arena Players Are Seeing 'Developer Mode' After Crash

Wizards of the Coast officially launched the brand new Magic: The Gathering set Zendikar Rising on Magic: The Gathering Arena on Thuresday. The massive update not only introduced the new set, but it also introduced a brand new Standard format rotation as well as custom emotes. However, the update made it rough for some players to log in, with many reportedly seeing a "black screen" error as well as other difficulties in enabling matchmaking procedures and redeeming wildcards. Players also noticed that they had been rearded with out-of-date cards for their "renewal" system: a feature designed to reward players for participating in old sets before the new rotation hits.

Although MTG Arena is now working fine, some players have noticed what seems like a developer mode of the game. The debug menu reveals various options like Timers, Decks, Vanity, Battlefield, Autoplay, Mulligan, Events, and Brass Man; there's also an option for "Stack the Deck" and "Enable Tree of Congress".

MTGA crashed and then showed me what looks like some sort of custom game creator?

We don't know exactly what they do but several players reportedly have seen this menu following the crash. Although they can see the debug menu, they are not able to use any of these options in the game.

What do you think these features do? "Stack the deck" seems suspicious. I wonder what they use it for.
