Magic: The Gathering Arena Cube Draft Phantom Event Details Revealed

As part of Tuesday's State of the Game for Magic: The Gathering Arena, Wizards of the Coast has announced that the Cube Phantom Draft event will be launched on MTG Arena on June 12. The event follows the success of Cube Sealed and Player Draft in the game, and it will run until June 25. The Cube Draft will contain a total of 555 cards, including Historic Anthology III and Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, and since it's a phantom event, players don't get to keep the cards they draft.

The Cube Draft requires an entry fee to participate, but all Arena players will get a free trial. Just like how WotC launched the Player Draft in MTGA, the first Cube Draft will be complimentary so players can experience it before paying an entry fee of 4,000 gold or 600 gems.

"Our first event is arriving on June 12 and, as we did with Ikoria, we'll be letting you get a taste of this format," Wizards said. "Your first Cube Draft will have no entry fee, and both the complimentary entry and the event itself will be available until the release of Core Set 2021."

Unlike Limited Draft, the booster packs of the Cube Draft will contain multiple Mythic Rare and Rare cards. Players can win up to seven games in the Cube Draft, but once they get a third loss, they're out of the event. Rewards of the event include gold and IRCs, although WotC hasn't revealed the specifics yet.
