Luke Skywalker Actor Mark Hamill Almost Died During Star Wars Filming

Last week, we shared the report that Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII has begun filming in Skelling Michael, Ireland with possible details, and now a new rumor is stating that Mark Hamill was almost killed last year while filming The Force Awakens at the same location.

UK's Mirror reports that an onlooker witnessed Mark Hamill slipping during a "dangerous climb in a treacherous spot" on Skellig Michael.

The report claims: Mark Hamill tumbled on the steps leading to the Christan Monastery, but his life was saved by a fast-acting guide from the Irish Office Of Public Works who caught the actor.

The NY Daily news and other UK gossip sites are reporting similar news.

This isn't the first time a mishap has occurred on the set of the new Star Wars movie. Harrison Ford's ankle was injured, and director J.J. Abrams broke his back.

Hamill was also involved in an automobile accident the day before he was to film a final scene for Star Wars: A New Hope.
