Jim Butcher's highly-anticipated Dresden Files novel, Peace Talks, finally gets a release date, confirming that the sixteenth book of the #1 New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series will be out next year.
Ace Books has announced that Peace Talks will be published on July 14, 2020 from Ace Books in the US and Orbit in the UK. It will be the first new Dresden Files novel since 2014's Skin Game.
Ace Executive Editor Anne Sowards said in a statement (via Tor): "I'm thrilled to share the next Dresden Files book with readers! Jim is at the top of his game in Peace Talks; it's a real page-turner. Plus, the timing couldn't be better."
2020 marks the 20th anniversary of the Dresden Files series, and fans can expect the first few chapters of Peace Talks to be released leading up to the book's publication. Additionally, there will be a series read-a-long, special giveaways, and contests every month in 2020 to celebrate the anniversary, and Ace Books will also reissue Storm Front, the first Dresden Files novel, in a new hardcover edition that will be sold exclusively at select comic cons.

"A summit of the world's supernatural powers is being held to try to establish some sort of equilibrium and to get everything settled down in the wake of the vanishing of the red court. And I'm pretty sure everyone's going to sit down and have a nice cup of tea, there'll be a talk, and walk away holding hands."
A live-action book trailer for Peace Talks is also coming so expect its release soon.
Jim Butcher is planning to write Book #2 of his steampunk Cinder Spires series after he completes Peace Talks. It will be called The Olympian Affair.
