1) Theros: Beyond Death
2) Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths
3) Core Set 2021
4) Zendikar Rising
Out of all these sets, only one features a brand new world we've never seen before: Ikoria, and according to head designer Mark Rosewater, Ikoria is a monster world. "You get to play with monsters, and you get to make monsters," Rosewater said during the live stream that you can watch below. "It's one of the craziest mechanics we've made in quite a while."
Coming in Spring 2020 is a brand new world! Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. In Mark's own words: "It's monster world!" You get to play with and make your own monsters, including "one of the craziest mechanics we've made in quite a while." #MTGIkoria pic.twitter.com/62y4oXmCSx— Magic: The Gathering (@wizards_magic) September 4, 2019
The set symbol for Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths looks like a fierce eye of a monster:
Create-a-monster mechanic sounds exciting, and I wonder if it's going to be similar to the Host/Augment mecahnic first introduced in the Unstable set or maybe it's similar to how "Brisela, Voice of Nightmares" is formed: with the backs of two different cards.
