Warner Bros. Pictures has shared another poster for the upcoming sci-fi epic Dune. The new poster features various characters on the desert planet Arrakis, a planet also kown as "Dune".
Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Blade Runner 2049), the cast shown in the photo includes Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, the heir to House Atreides, and Paul's parents, Duke Leto (Oscar Isaac) and Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson). Others featured are Jason Momoa as the swordsmaster Duncan Idaho; Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Duke Leto's chief officer; Zendaya as the Fremen woman, Chani; Javier Barden as the Fremen leader, Stilgar; and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Arrakis' chief Planetologist, Dr. liet Kynes.
The upcoming Dune movie will adapt the first half of Frank Herbert's 1965 sci-fi novel, Dune, which follows Paul Atreides, whose family accepts the stewardship of the planet Arrakis, a barren desert planet with harsh climate, but it's the only place to mine melange, or the "spice", a drug that enhances mental abilities and extends life. The drug is also used for space navigation, which requires a kind of multidimensional awareness and foresight that only the drug provides. However, on Arrakis, the Emperor and their rival House Harkonnen betrays Duke Leto, which sets off a battle over Arrakis and its spice.

Dune is scheduled to be released in theaters and HBOMax simultaneously on October 1, 2021, along with the studio's entire film slate for the year. Check out more details about Dune here.
