Dresden Files Calling For Extras For Peace Talks Live-Action Trailer

Jim Butcher's next Dresden Files novel Peace Talks is already complete, and although there's still no official release date for the 16th book of this urban fantasy series, at least we know that they're launching it in a special way, with a live-action trailer! Now, fans in the Los Angeles, California area have a chance of being part of it thanks to a recent casting call for the book trailer.

Jim-Butcher.com has posted a Los Angeles casting call for extras for those who "want to be a part of the fan-made book trailer to promote the next Dresden Files novel"

"All shapes, sizes, genders, ages, and ethnicities welcome to submit," the casting call reads.

To submit your application, just send an email to industriosapictures (at) gmail.com with the following:

> Your name
> A full-body photo
> Your availability for the following dates: December 3rd (early afternoon), 4th (evening), 5th (evening/night), 7th (day), and 8th (day).
> We'll have different needs and looks for each day, so you don't need to be available for more than one.
> If you have any experience doing extra work or acting on camera (not necessary, but helpful! And note: the project is SAG, so both SAG and non-union folks are able to participate.)
> If you have access to and could appear in any of the following: casual clothes you don't mind getting dusty or dirty, formal evening wear, historical costumes, or tactical gear.
> What region of the city you'll be coming from (so we can suggest carpools)

It sounds like the next Dresden Files book is getting a huge special promotion with all these extras they're trying to get, and I'm sure it's going to get many fans hyped. The last Dresden Files novel, Skin Game, was released back in 2015, so the 5-year-wait is finally over. In January, Butcher explained why it took him so long to complete Peace Talks.

Here's what the author said about Peace Talks:

"A summit of the world's supernatural powers is being held to try to establish some sort of equilibrium and to get everything settled down in the wake of the vanishing of the red court. And I'm pretty sure everyone's going to sit down and have a nice cup of tea, there'll be a talk, and walk away holding hands."

Expect Peace Talks to be released sometime next year. Jim Butcher is planning to write Book #2 of his Cinder Spires series after he completes Peace Talks. It will be called The Olympian Affair.
