Fortnite's extensive list of skin continues to grow, and it looks like the popular battle-royale may soon be adding Goku and Naruto thanks to an alleged collaboration between Epic Games and Shueisha, the publisher behind the Shonen Jump series of manga.
A recent tweet from Fortnite leaker and dataminer Twe claims that Epic Games is working with Shueisha on producing "a few anime collabs," which will likely release playable skins. According to Twea, this update comes from "a trusted source," and goes on to say that"[Shueisha] has partial rights to many large animes including animes including Dragon Ball and Naruto."
This information matches what was revealed during the Epic Games vs. Apple trial, where we learned about some of Fortnite's upcoming skins, including Naruto, Samus Aran, Master Chief, and Kratos. If the collaboration is confirmed, this opens possibilities for other popular titles Shueisha publishes to appear in the game. Fortnite could bring characters not just from Dragon Ball and Naruto, but also from My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and One Piece.
While some anime fans may be excited to see their favorite characters featured in the battle royale game, some might not approve to see shonen characters use Fortnite weapons instead of their powerful abilities to eliminate enemies in the battle royale.
Fortnite's frequent addition of skins has been criticized for featuring characters from pop and geek cultures, but some players seem to enjoy seeing them in the game. Recently, Fortnite added skins for characters such as Loki, Batman, and Rick Sanchez. You can check out how to get the Rick & Morty skin here.
