Camera Man Seen in Marvel's Eternals Footage: Is This a Mistake?

On Monday morning, Marvel Studios released a new sizzle reel to reveal the studio's theatrical plans for the next two years, showcasing release dates and titles for highly-anticipated movies as well as never-before-seen footage from films coming to theaters later this year. One of those footages is from Chloe Zhao's Eternals, and one shot seemed to reveal a potential mistake.

In one footage from Eternals that was featured in the sizzle revealed several characters from the film walking forward, with a crowd behind them. If you look closer on the left side of the screen, right behind Kumail Nanjiani's shoulder, there is someone holding a camera on his shoulder. Some fans pointed out that this could be an error, but the camera man might also be part of the film.

The camera operator is walking with the other characters, and doesn't seem to be shooting anything as his camera is aiming towards the ground. However, some fans are pointing out Nanjiani's character, Kringo, a member of the Eternals who's also a popular actor in the present age. Because of this, it's likely that he is followed by a camera crew. There's another shot of Nanjiani in a desert, and there's a guy holding a handheld camcorder beside him, so it seems someone with a camera is always following him.
