Riot Games has announced that the Snowball Fight will be available in Valorant on Dec. 15 and will run for two weeks until Dec. 19. The mode is a Team Deathmatch with a holiday twist to help players take a break from the tactical shooter's stressful competitive matches.

Agents will wield a snowball launcher, and the first team to 50 kills wins. The snowball launcher is described to be Brimstone's 'Killjoy-rigged' molotov launcher that shoots snowy projectiles. Respawns will be enabled, and the only other weapons allowed are knives and power-ups packaged in gifts that spawn out of portals across the map.

The power-ups can upgrade your snowball launcher by amplifying the size of the snowball or increasing your rate of fire.

Here are the four different power-ups you can get from the gifts:

Rapid Fire – Fire even faster

Growball – Grows over time while traveling in the air

Ricochet – For all those snowball trick shots off the ground and walls

Skates – Skate around quickly in style. Jump higher!

Agents are only allowed to have one power-up at a time, and it will drop once they die, but they can ping the power-ups they find on the ground so their teammates can pick them up.

"We had the idea of trying to come up with a mode that felt appropriate to celebrate the holidays and the release of Icebox," Senior Producer Jared Berbach and Senior Game Designer Bobby Prochnow said. "The prototype was an instant hit with the team, and we've been working to get it to players."

Although Snowball Fight is a limited event, Riot might bring it back in the future if players enjoy this mode, so be sure to send the developers your feedback. It's great to see that Riot is also bringing new game modes for casual players, and not just focus on the competitive aspects of Valorant.
