Shroud Says Valorant Will Become The Number One FPS Esport

Twitch streamer Shroud (real name: Michael Grzesiek) believes that Valorant will "easily" surpass Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as the top FPS game when it comes to esports.

During a recent stream, the Twitch star talked about Valorant's esports scene and how CS: GO's competitive scene is dying.

"Dude, Valorant is just going to hit and it's going to hit hard. Like, it has the perfect recipe right now, right," Shroud said. "It's just like, CS numbers are dipping, but to be fair CS strives on LAN so that's why they're dipping, obviously once LAN comes back, it'll be a little different."

"But still, if Valorant nails the timing of coming to LAN and tournaments are popping off, it's going to blow the f**k up – even more than it already has." When someone in the stream told Shroud that Valorant will take the top spot in the first-person shooter esports ranks, Shroud said, "Oh yeah, easily."

Shroud noted that the best teams in Europe and North America haven't had the chance to compete against each other yet. Shroud believes that it'll pop off once that happens, and the game goes to LAN. He also noted that "NA is pretty solid in Valorant right now."

Shroud also talked about the problems with Rainbow Six: Siege, saying that it's "not casual enough. It's a game that's sweaty, and forever be sweaty. There's nothing lighthearted about that f***** game, and it's frustrating."

Riot just launched Valorant in June 2020, and pros from CS:GO, Apex Legends, Overwatch, and other games decided to focus more on Valorant. Riot has developed a great FPS game for esports, and I believe that it will eventually become the number one FPS esports game.
