Rhapsody of Fire Reveals New Magic: The Gathering Card From Kaldheim

The Week of Metal sneak peek for the upcoming Norse mythology-inspired Magic: The Gathering set, Kaldheim continues today with four heavy metal bands revealing new cards for the Viking and metal-themed expansion.

Italian symphonic power metal band Rhapsody of Fire has partnered with Wizards of the Coast to give us our first look at a new Magic card from Kaldheim called Realmwalker, a three-to-cast green Shapeshifter Changeling that lets you choose a creature type when it enters the battlefield, and you may look at the top card of your library at any time. You may cast creature spells of the chosen type from the top of your library.

This card reminds me a lot of Courser of Kruphix from the orginal Theros block. This will most likely see play in Standard format. This also confirms that Kaldheim will have a tribal theme or subtheme.

What do you think about Realmwalker?

Check out what the other Kaldheim previews from the other bands:

Smoulder - Magda, Brazen Outlaw
Mastodon - 4 MDFC lands
Torche - Pyre of Heroes
Angra - Showdown of Scalds

Since Kaldheim features Vikings and a metal theme, I thought it's cool to see these heavy metal bands showcase new Magic cards from the upcoming expansion. Wizards also shared a Week of Metal playlist on Spotify featuring these seven bands.

Kaldheim is set to release on February 5, 2021 for tabletop, and Jan. 28 on Magic Arena and Magic Online. Check out where to find all the Kaldheim previews here.
