The original art for Ian Miller's Showcase version of the new Magic: The Gathering card from Kaldheim, Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire was sold via auction on the MTG Art Market Facebook group for $27,000. This is Miller's first MTG artwork in nearly 25 years.

The original Showcase Varragoth art illustrated by Ian Miller is a work of pen and ink on watercolor paper measuring 16 inches by 18 inches. Wizards of the Coast commissioned Miller to create this marvelous art for the Showcase series of the upcoming Norse mythology-inspired set, Kaldheim

This is Miller's 25th published Magic card, and it marks his return to the popular card game after nearly a 25-year hiatus. His last published Magic card for the 1997 Weatherlight expansion set.

Varragoth's opening bid ask was $5,000, but one buyer ultimately took the art with the final price of $27,000. The Showcase art for Varragoth looks wickedly cool, and it's good to see the return of a legendary Magic artist after more than two decades.
