Wizards of the Coast has announced a brand new Magic: The Gathering Wizards Play Network-exclusive Secret Lair called Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition 2.
Ultimate Edition 2will be released in Spring 2021, and will only be available at WPN stores around the world. The boxed collection features ten full-art Pathway lands withbrand-new art from ten of MTG's best artists (Paul Scott Canavan, Alayna Danner, Piotr Dura, Grady Frederick, Donato Giancola, Yeong-Hao Han, Adam Paquette, Lucas Staniec, Jokubas Uogintas, and Johannes Voss) featuring the Planes of Kaldheim and Zendikar.
Six of these Pathway lands were originally printed in Zendikar Rising, and the Ultimate Edition 2 versions will feature art depicting the Plane of Kaldheim instead. The other four Pathway lands will be introduced in the upcoming Norse-mythology set, Kaldheim, so they haven't been revealed yet.
Just like the first Ultimate Edition Secret Lair, Ultimate Edition 2 will come with a commemorative box that can be used for display. Wizards notes that due to the "issues surrounding procurement during the global pandemic, some of the boxes will be black and some will be dark gray", but says that there are no differences between the two other than the box color.
Kaldheim is set to release on February 5, 2021, and it will be followed by Strixhaven: School of Mages.
