Magic: The Gathering Planeswalker Villain Will Return in Kaldheim?

Wizards of the Coast hasn't revealed any details about the lore of the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set, Kaldheim yet, but fans are already speculating what to expect from the Norse mythology-inspired set. The expansion will be the first Standard-legal set to feature Magic's Viking world even though we've seen the plane featured in the 2009 Planechase set and the 2014 Duels of the Planeswalkers game.

Duels of the Planeswalkers featured a story set in different planes, and one of them is Kaldheim. The game introduced a shamanic human planeswalker and crazed visionary who manipulated Chandra Nalaar into stealing the Dragon Scroll, which eventually led to the rise of the Eldrazi on Zendikar. Chandra tracked Ramaz across many planes to get revenge for using her in his schemes, but he ultimately escaped after their battle on the plane of Kaldheim. She learned that Ramaz's scheme traced back to the elderdragon Nicol Bolas.

It's likely that Kaldheim introduce a new Planeswalker from Kaldheim in the set. Although we've seen Ramaz before in the Duels of the Planeswalkers game, he wasn't featured in a card, so we might see his first card in Kaldheim. The expansion will be released in a couple of months, so Wizards will most likely release new information about it soon. However, two gods from Kaldheim have already been leaked.

Kaldheim is set to release on February 5, 2021, and it will be followed by Strixhaven: School of Mages.
