Kaldheim Release Dates: When It Will The New Magic: The Gathering Set Be Released Digitally & For Tabletop

The 285-card Norse mythology-inspired Magic: The Gathering set, Kaldheim, is coming digitally and on tabletop soon, and fans have already seen spoilers from the upcoming expansion.

Kadheim will introduce two new mechanics called Foretell and Boast, but the set will also feature older mechanics like Changeling, Snow, Modal Double-Faced Cards (MDFC), and Vehicles. The set also has a tribal theme, and cards inspired by Norse mythology like Magic's take on Thor and his weapon Mjolnir.

Kaldheim Digital Release: When Will It Be Released on MTG Arena and Magic Online?

Featuring the ten realms of Magic's Viking-inspired world, Kaldheim's digital release is scheduled on January 28 via Magic: The Gathering Arena and Magic Online.

Early access event for Kaldheim will likely take place on Jan. 27, but Wizards hasn't confirmed the date yet.

Fans can pre-order two bundles from the MTG Arena store ahead of Kaldheim's digital release. The bundles will include a free-to-play Set Mastery and Mastery Pass rewards.

Kaldheim Tabletop Release: When will the paper products for the new set be available?

Kaldheim is set to officially release via tabletop on Feb. 5. While prerelease events are scheduled from Jan. 29 to Feb. 4, tabletop play may be restricted in most local game stores in the Wizards Play Network (WPN) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kaldheim is set to have a launch party on Feb. 6 to 7.

The Kaldheim bundle promo is a foil alternate-art Reflections of Littjara card, and the Buy-a-Box promo is a foil alternate-art Realmwalker card.

Kaldheim Draft Booster, Set Booster, and Theme Booster boxes will be available as well as the two Kaldheim Commander decks.

Kaldheim is set to release on February 5, 2021 for tabletop, and Jan. 28 on Magic Arena and Magic Online. The set will be followed by Strixhaven: School of Mages, which is set to release sometime in Spring 2021.
