How to Change Your Valorant Display Name in Just 3 Easy Steps

Riot Games made it easy for Valorant players to change their display names, so if you are tired of using the same display name but don't want to create another account, just read on to learn how to change your display name in the popular tactical shooter.

Your Valorant display name has been tied to your Riot account, which makes it easy and quick to change right away. In other games by Riot like League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics, players will need to spend in-game currency (Riot Points) if you want to change your name, but the process in Valorant is quite simple and only takes a few minutes. As the game becomes more popular, the developers might soon put the name change option behind a pay wall, so make sure to take advantage of this while you still can do it for free. It only takes three easy steps to change your Valorant display name, so let's take a look.

How to change your Valorant display name?

Step 1: Close the Valorant client (if it's open), and log in to your Riot account in this link.

You may need to re-confirm your log-in details if you previously signed in. The system will ask you to enter a five-digit code through your registered email before heading to the next step. The double verification is similar to how Fortnite players log in to their Epic Games account.

Step 2: Once you're logged in to your Riot account, navigate to the Riot ID tab (the second to the left), and click on the pen icon right next to your Valorant display name.

This will give you the option you change your display name and unique hashtag, which can be a set of numbers and lettters similar to a clan tag in League of Legends.

Step 3: Enter a new name to see if it's available. If it is, save to confirm the change, then launch Valorant on your system, and you should be ready with your new display name.

Note that no two usernames can be the same anymore, even for different servers, so for you will need to have a unique username for each change. It's also worth noting that you can only change your display name once in 30 days.
