2 New 2021 Magic: The Gathering Judge Promo Cards Revealed

Wizards of the Coast has revealed the two new foil Judge Magic: The Gathering promo cards: Nicol Bolas, the Ravager // Nicol Bolas, the Arisen and The Gitrog Monster. Each new 2021 Judge promo foil features new art. Both sides of Nicol Bolas, the Ravager // Nicol Bolas, the Arisen was illustrated by Lie Setiawan, and The Gitrog Monster was illustrated by Nils Hamm.

Check out the new artworks by Setiawan and Hamm:

Senior Magic designer Gavin Verhey originally revealed the art for both cards last month, and now we have our first look at the cards. While the original versions of these cards have nice art, I like the new versions better.

They both look fantastic, and I think the owl Judge promo symbol watermarks stand out well.

Magic judges who attend the Jan-April 2021 will receive Conferences Support packs that contain the two new 2021 promos and 2 additional Judge Academy 2020 promo cards. The other 2021 Judge promos that will be given out later this year haven't been revealed yet.

Both Gitrog Monster and Nicol Bolas, The Raver saw a fair amount of play in Standard back when they were legal in that Constructed format. Gitrog was originally printed for 2016's Shadows Over Innistrad, and Nicol Bolas, The Ravager was released in the Core Set 2019 set. I'm sure many Commander players would love to get the new foil Judge promo versions of these cards. Both cards will surely fetch a higher price than their original versions.
