Netflix has not confirmed any news or updates about Squid Game returning for Season 2. Squid Game premiered on September 17, 2021, and is currently available for online streaming on Netflix. So with only a few days after its release, it is impossible to receive an immediate green light from Netflix whether the Kdrama will have another season.

However, viewers of the show had put up theories and speculations, which further increased the possibility of Squid Game Season 2. Some assumed that Lee Jung Jae would return to the games and find out all the persons responsible for the deaths of many people just for a couple of billion of prize money.

Squid Game Season 2 Potential Main Cast

There is no confirmed news of renewal for Squid Game yet, so it is vague whether who will be the main cast for the show's season 2. It should be noted that only one out of the 456 participants at the games came out alive. So, none of the 455 people will be coming back to the show. However, we can consider flashbacks of their lives.

Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) is the only one who survives the game, so he would probably be in Season 2. Depending on the storyline of Squid Game season 2, we might see more of Gong Yoo recruiting participants for the games. Gong Yoo's special cameo appearance was an uproar, and realizing that his character is still alive, he must have been continuing to recruit participants, as seen in the last episode of Squid Game Season 1.

Also, Lee Byung Hun, who we found out was the man behind the mask and was called the Front Man, is a potential cast for Squid Game season 2. His brother, police officer Joon Ho (Wi Ha Joon), can also return for Squid Game season 2 as his death was suspicious. It is possible that In Ho did not shoot him, and it could be a potential turnaround for Squid Game season 2.
