IT Sequel: One Of The Kids In The Losers Club Will End Up A Drug Addict; Another Will Commit Suicide

The IT reboot is currently blowing up in the box office right now, and plans for the sequel are already coming to place. We know that the sequel will take place 27 years later from the first movie, but director Andy Muschietti plans on shaking up some character fates from the novel.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Muschietti discloses:

"My idea of Mike in the second movie is quite darker from the book. I want to make his character the one pivotal character who brings them all together, but staying in Derry took a toll with him. I want him to be a junkie actually. A librarian junkie. When the second movie starts, he's a wreck."

Muschietti continues:

"He's not just the collector of knowledge of what Pennywise has been doing in Derry. He will bear the role of trying to figure out how to defeat him. The only way he can do that is to take drugs and alter his mind."

Though all the kids in the movie will come back as adults, one of them, specifically Stan (played by Guardians of the Galaxy's Wyatt Oleff), will not be making an appearance. This is due to the fact that he will commit suicide once he is summoned to go against Pennywise again.

"There is something in the future for him, taking his own life, that finds its seed in this film. He is the one who doesn't want to accept what's going on. And being the one who didn't want to participate he gets the worst part."

So far, IT is making a lot of money for a horror movie, and a lot of praise is going to Bill Skarsgard's Pennywise as well as the kids in the Losers Club. Out of all these Hollywood reboots, it's nice to see some of them actually ending up great.

IT is currently in theaters.
