Here’s How Taika Waititi Would Open Thor 4

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok.

Marvel might not have any solid plans for Thor 4 yet now that the franchise is heading towards the development of the Marvel Cosmic Universe, but if Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi had his way with things, Thor 4 would be made with a reunion between Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum as the film's opening.

While Thor: Ragnarok surprised fans when Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth and Sam Neill appeared as the theatrical versions of Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Tom Hiddleston's Loki and Anthony Hopkin's Odin in a play in Asgard, the film somehow missed the fact that Neill and Goldblum had starred together in Jurassic World.

Cinema Blend asked about the missed opportunity during a press junket for Ragnarok and this is what Waititi had to say:

"I would have loved that. I don't think they were around at the same time. That would have been amazing just to somehow make that work. It would be awesome if we somehow got Laura Dern in there, as well…Thor 4, exactly. All of them go back and do the play again. It's a new play about Asgard's destruction. That might be a great way to start that film."

Sure it's uncertain whether Marvel would pursue a Thor 4, it would be terribly funny seeing The Grandmaster starring in an Asgardian play with fake Odin. Let's just hope that there's room for another Thor movie in the MCU.

Thor: Ragnarok is currently screening in cinemas.
