Hans Zimmer to Score X-Men: Dark Phoenix

After Batman v Superman, Hans Zimmer had said he was ‘officially retired' from superhero movies, but according to X-Men star Evan Peters (Quicksilver), Zimmer will be returning to comic book movies once again as he's set to score X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Talking to the HappySadConfused podcast, Peters talked about working on an X-Men movie with Simon Kinberg at the helm. He says:

"[The set] was actually very tame. Simon directed this one, and came in very prepared, very professional. It was a different energy on set and everything got done like clockwork. It was very seamless. Everybody was a little bit more level-headed, so it was a very pleasurable, light experience. I think the film is gonna be incredible. Hans Zimmer's scoring it—I don't know if I was supposed to say that or not. Simon has surrounded himself with incredible people, and Simon knows this world better than anybody, so it was just cool to see him—he's so happy and in his element in that world, and also being able to direct and guide everybody in this way. I was very happy for him and I think it's gonna be great."

It's also worth mentioning that Peters is saying that the set was "very professional." Last year, Bryan Singer, who directed the first and last two X-Men movies, was fired from his Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody for misconduct on set. Singer was reported to have the same attitude in his other films.

Personally, I've grown tired of the Singer X-Men universe and am hoping that Marvel does a full reboot with the characters. Ever since Days of Future Past, the timeline has become incredibly confusing, and the decade-long time jumps don't seem to age the characters appropriately. Am I supposed to believe that James McAvoy in the film is the same age as Patrick Stewart in the first X-Men?

Ridiculous.

Hopefully Simon Kinberg gives this X-Men universe a proper finale with Dark Phoenix. The film is slated for a release on Nov. 2.
