The first Shazam movie was a delight among many fans. This is why the second film is highly-anticipated as Shazam was one of DC's highly-praised movies. A new update on the film will surely delight fans as Zachary Levi is back in the gym training for Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

A new video on social media shows the actor hard at work to bulk up once again, as it is set to begin filming soon. The video shows that the actor is prepping and training for the upcoming film. The DCEU flick will serve as a sequel to 2019's Shazam, which was Levi's introduction to the DC universe.

The actor plays the grown and superhero version of Billy Batson, who is a regular teenage boy (Asher Angel). Once Billy says the name Shazam, he transforms into an adult superhero played by Levi. The first film garnered positive reviews and $364 million worldwide which made it a modest hit. It was in the middle of Marvel's Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame which makes its box office returns impressive.

Warner Bros immediately greenlit a sequel not long after the film was released. While the sequel was still in its early stages, Shazam 2 was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Shazam 2 was supposed to be scheduled for a 2022 release. Due to the schedule changes caused by COVID, the film's release date was moved.

The movie's release date is currently set at June 2023, which puts it four years after the first film. As Shazam's child actors are growing older, filming for the film has to begin in May 2021. Levi's preparation is proof that he is preparing to gear up for his role in Shazam.
