The Mandalorian Season 3 Cast: Sebastian Stan May Get His Chance to Play Luke Skywalker

The Mandalorian season 2's ending surprised fans by having Luke Skywalker come back for the final episode. The young Jedi was the one who answered Grogu's call and showed up for a moment. Luke saved Mando and Grogu from Moff Gideon. Unfortunately, Luke also brought Grogu away from Mando. While it is not clear as to what will happen with Grogu in The Mandalorian season 3, fans are sure wanting to see more of Luke Skywalker.

Mark Hamill cannot obviously play the young Luke anymore without any CGI work done. However, there is someone who can play him, and that looks like him. There is someone whom fans have been wanting to play the character for many years. In fact, he even endorsed the idea himself, Captain America: The Winter Soldier actor, Sebastian Stan.

The fan casting is not just because the actor has a lot of fans wanting to see him on another character. The resemblance of Stan to a young Hamill makes it convincing that he can play the role. Fans have made edits with Stan as the young Luke Skywalker and he could certainly fit the bill. Check out some of them here.

Aside from looking uncannily similar to the young Hamill, fans also see that the actor is a great choice to play the young Luke in The Mandalorian or any other upcoming Star Wars projects. Fans believe that he is already primed for the role. Stan already works under the Disney umbrella as part of the Marvel films. He will also have Disney+ series titled, The Falcon and The Winter alongside Anthony Mackie's Falcon character.

Since Stan is already working in the studio, it would not be difficult to have him over to the Lucasfilm projects, just like what Pixar did with Chris Evans. The Captain America actor will play Buzz Lightyear in the Pixar film titled, Lightyear, which will explore the "real-life" inspiration of the Toy Story character. Since the filming for Stan's DIsney+ project has finished filming, he may have some free time in his schedule to play the iconic role of Luke Skywalker.

The Mandalorian 3 will be released in December 2021.
