Fans are still reeling in the finale episode of The Mandalorian season 2. It brought a surprise with the appearance of a familiar face in the Star Wars franchise. One of the most important iconic factors of the final episode is the surprise within the post-credits scene, leaving fans excited, surprised, and quite confused.

The final moments of episode 8 took fans back to Tatooine. There, Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) and Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) were taking over the crime lord palace which once belonged to Jabba and Hutt. Boba may feel like he has a good reason to feel disturbed with Fortuna, as Jabba's lackeys left him for dead in the Sarlac Pit which was witnessed in Return of the Jedi.
As Fett takes over the throne, a title card can be seen: The Book of Boba Fett coming December 2021. This left fans excited and confused. Looking at it, it seems like it would be another The Mandalorian spin-off series. The recent Disney Investor Day made announcements about the upcoming spin-offs of the popular series The Mandalorian. The two confirmed spin-offs are Rangers of the New Republic and Ahsoka. There was no announcement about any Boba Fett spin-offs.
What confused fans, even more, was the fact that The Mandalorian 3 was announced for next Christmas, which is the same date in the title card. It's not clear whether The Book of Boba Fett would be a limited spin-off or if it would be a full-fledged series. Perhaps, it can even happen with The Mandalorian itself.
There have been reports that Disney may be working on a Boba Fett spin-off series but this was put into question after Investor Day when only two spin-off series were announced. However, this new development may give us The Book of Boba Fett as a spin-off before The Mandalorian 3. There is no confirmation on how this project will go but fans are surely hoping that it will be another spin-off for the widely popular series.
