Stranger Things Cast Are About to Play Dungeons and Dragons in Real-Life

On December 18, several Stranger Things cast members will be coming together to play the special holiday-themed game titled, Dungeons & Dragons. Wizards of the Coast announced that their Principal Story Designer, Chris Perkins, will host a very special session of the D&D game on the Stranger Things YouTube channel on Friday, December 18, at 10 am PT.

The event will have Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, David Harbour, and Natalia Dyer. The cast will pick up the d20 dice to try out the popular role-playing game which has become quite linked to the Netflix show.

The trailer for the event showed that the game session was not filmed with a simple camera. The Wizards of the Coast filmed the game event using a SOLO Cinebot, which is a robotic camera that allows the remote team to capture the event in more cinematic quality. The remote filming of the production team is made to adhere to the social distancing measures brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic

D&D plays a big role in the Netflix series. It is the very first game that the young friends played together in season 1, to Will's efforts to continue the campaign in the third season, and the Stranger Things D&D starter set which made the game very important to the show and its characters.

The Stranger Things squad already appeared to portray the game in the show. The team goes to great heroic lengths to defeat a monster and save a village, which goes beyond far beyond the tabletop game. The show even referenced the game and the parallels are very similar.

Catch the Stranger Things cast playing Dungeons and Dragons which will be livestreamed at the Netflix series' YouTube channel.
