Star Wars' Daisy Ridley is Interested To Take on the Role of Marvel's Spider-Woman


Daisy Ridley has responded to the rumors about her playing Spider-Woman in Sony's Marvel Universe. Ridley was catapulted to stardom in 2015, after she played the lead role of Rey in the three Star Wars trilogy.

Although there are no official announcements regarding the casting, a Spider-Woman film is currently being developed. Ridley is a major fan favorite to play the role. There were rumors that Alicia Vikander is being eyed to take the part.

Ridley has multiple projects which include Chaos Walking with Spider-Man star Tom Holland. Ridley revealed that she is currently unsure of what she will be doing with herself following the Star Wars trilogy.

Currently, not much is known about the Spider-Woman film, although there were reports that Olivia Wilde might be attached to the film. Last summer, Wilde closed a deal to develop and direct a female-centric Marvel movie. Some speculated that it could be Spider-Woman, especially after she tweeted a spider emoji.

Following the reports of a Spider-Woman film and Ridley being a fan favorite to take on the role, the actress revealed that she is interested in playing Spider-Woman. Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, is under Sony Pictures' Marvel universe of characters. She also revealed that she is a big fan of the Marvel series WandaVision which is currently airing on Disney+.

As of the moment, there are no confirmations on the casting for the Spider-Woman film. There are no confirmations on whether it is the filming or production date. Considering Ridley's acting prowess and star power, it is not entirely impossible that she can take her shot in taking on the role.
