CBR noted that Marvel's Voices: Identity is similar to Marvel's Voices: Indigenous Voices, as well as Marvel's Voices: Legacy which has inspiring stories. It aims to reflect the world outside your window. The stories in Marvel's Voices: Identity will include works of Marcus To, Jason Loo, Christina Strain, Gene Luen Yang, Mashal Ahmed, Maurene Goo, and Greg Pak. Aside from these creators, it will also include works from Lynee Yoshii and Creees Lee who will make their Marvel Comics debut.
Editor Darren Shan stated that it is unreal how one of Marvel's first Asian superheroes named Jimmy Woo was introduced in 1956. The character came first before the X-Men, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four.

Shan added that it proves how Asians have been an important part of Marvel's history when it comes to both the comics and the creators behind them. The editor further noted that he is incredibly excited to celebrate the legacy with all of the amazing creators, both new and established, which features some of Marvel's greatest superheroes.

Gene Luen Yang also stated that he is thrilled to take part in Marvel's Voices: Identity #1. He further states that Asian and Asian-American superheroes are very integral to the Marvel Universe, as well as the Asian and Asian American creators as proven by the comics edition.

Marvel's Voices: Identity #1 will go on sale on August 11, 2021.
