The Green Lantern series is set to go to HBO Max. The series aims to reinvent the classic DC hero. The series will begin with FBI agent Alan Scott which was set on Earth in 1941. The series will also head in 1984 with half-alien Bree Jarta and Guy Gardner. The role of Gardner will be played by Finn Wittrock.
The three will be joined by other Lanterns. It will be a roster that includes the Lanterns that are known from within the pages of DC Comics, as well as characters that are unique to the TV series.
The director of the upcoming Green Lantern show on HBO Max will be with Lee Toland Krieger.
The director also worked on projects such as Riverdale and Superman & Lois. The Green Lantern series will be produced under Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. television.
Krieger was the one who directed the pilot episode Superman & Lois which got quickly renewed for a second season. He also directed the first three episodes of Riverdale, as well as season 1's finale. Other works that Krieger directed included the first two episodes You, and the first two episodes of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He also worked on the first two episodes of Shadow and Bone.
The series will be written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Seth Grahame-Smith. The three will also co-produce with Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter, David Madden, and David Katzenberg. Sara Saedi and Elizabeth Hunter will be the executive producers of the series.
