After the successful debut of its trailer, Godzilla vs. Kong is moving its release date once again. The film already underwent many release date changes and it is once again going through another one.

Legendary Entertainment, the production company behind Godzilla vs. Kong was previously disappointed with the studio’s decision to release the film on HBO Max, alongside the theater release. The reason for this was because Legendary reportedly made a $250 million bid to buy the film.

Recent reports stated that Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. are back on good terms. The two companies reportedly fixed their agreements by settling on a release strategy that will be satisfactory for both parties.

Aside from Godzilla vs. Kong, WB also announced the schedule for James Wan’s horror film, Malignant, which is set on September 10. The latest delay for Godzilla vs. Kong was a response to the news that MGM will postpone the James Bond movie No Time to Die, from April 2 to October 8, as well as Sony’s Peter Rabbit: 2: The Runaway, which was on April 2 but delayed to June.

As most movies are vacating the early 2021 release dates, the monster film will open before Universal’s action-thriller titled Nobody, which stars Bob Odenkirk.

Warner Bros. recently announced that it would bump up Godzilla vs. Kong release date two months earlier than expected, the studio announced that it would delay the domestic premiere. Previously, the date was bumped up from May 21 to March 26.

Now, the film will have its release on March 31 in the US, which will be released on HBO Max and theaters at the same time. For international release without the availability of HBO Max, it will be released on March 26.
