Fantastic Beasts’ Johnny Depp Faces Another Blow as Aquaman Star Amber Heard is Reportedly in Talks for the Pirates of the Caribbean Role

Pirates of the Caribbean

star Johnny Depp continues to receive blows after losing his appeal against the United Kingdom's court ruling on the Sun's ‘wife-beater' defamation case. New reports have circulated stating that

Aquaman

star Amber Heard is talking with Margot Robbie to join Depp's former franchise.

Depp's future in the

Pirates of Caribbean

franchise is in peril and remains uncertain, especially after losing the defamation battle. He was also instructed by the judge to pay almost £630,000 in legal fees to The Sun's publishers, which were the defendants in the case. This further development is worsening Depp's possible return to the

Pirates of the Caribbean

franchise.

Warner Bros. has also announced that it had asked the actor to withdraw from the

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

franchise. He previously played the main villain Gellert Grindelwald in J.K. Rowling's fantasy world.

franchise. There is no information available on what the possible role could be, but if proven true, this is another huge blow to Depp.

Despite Depp's hardships with his legal battles and animosity with his former wife, he continues to have the support of the fans. His fans from around the globe are still hoping that Disney would give Depp another chance to reprise his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean film. An old Change.org petition which dated a couple of years ago has resurfaced which urges Disney to bring back Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. The petition recently gained traction and has received 337,380 signatures as of writing this article. Meanwhile, the petition to fire Amber Heard from DC's Aquaman role has passed 1.5 million signatures.

The new developments in Depp and Heard's careers continue to unfold while their legal battle ensues. It is interesting to see how things would turn out later and if Heard's movies will receive the impact of the calls for boycotts that fans have been campaigning for.
