DC Films' Sister Subsidiary Will Air DC Movies in A Marathon to Honor the TV Premiere of Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel

Superhero movie premieres tend to be big moments for cable networks as they hope to catch the eyes of the audience who may be channel surfing. Getting the rights to either a Marvel or DC comic book premiere would be a great fanfare for a cable network. This is why on Wednesday, January 6, TNT announced that it will be honoring Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel on Sunday, January 10, at 8 pm ET.

That wasn't just the main gist of the announcement. To pull out all the big guns for the big exclusive premiere, TNT announced that it will air a huge list of comic book movie adaptations in a marathon. Fans may think that the films included in the marathon leading up to Captain Marvel's TV premiere would be Marvel films. Instead, from January 8 to January 10, the days leading up to the TV premiere, TNT will be airing DC movies. The movies include Justice League, Suicide Squad, Batman Begins, Wonder Woman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel.

The best part of the news is that TNT, which has the exclusive TV premiere for Captain Marvel is a company under the Warner Media Group, the main conglomerate that owns Warner Bros who is managing DC Films under it. This is why there is no surprise why TNT can air DC films on its channel but the surprising part is that it got the exclusive TV premiere for Marvel Studio's Captain Marvel.

The Marathon Schedule:

Justice League

Saturday, January 8 at 5:30 p.m.ET
