A new Cruella promotion poster showcases Emma Stone's wild look. Along with the poster a new trailer was released.  The 101 Dalmatians prequel will be featuring Stone playing the iconic villainess, years before she became infamous for stealing furs.

The crime comedy film is claimed to be an origin story of sorts which will follow Cruella de Vil during her early years as a dressmaker in London. Cruella becomes hooked into dogs' skins and becomes the long-lasting Disney villain we now know.

Stone will be taking Glenn Close’s role, who previously played the role of Cruella de Vil in the 1996 live-action adaptation of the Disney film, as well as its sequel. Stone will star alongside Emma Thompson as the Baroness, a fashion icon in the prestigious fashion house in London. Also set to star are Paul Walter Hauser, Joel Fry, Mark Strong, and Emily Beecham. Craig Gillespie will be directing Cruella. His last feature was I, Tonya, which landed several Oscar nominations in 2018.

The first trailer for Disney's Cruella has been released, which introduces Emma Stone because of the titular villain. Viewers can hear Cruella de Vil narrate the trailer. In the trailer, we meet her with her bright red hair, before she dyes it with her iconic black and white hair. Cruella can be heard saying while laughing, "I guess they were always scared that I'd be... a psycho," she says while laughing.”

Cruella came from a script by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel. It will tell the origin story of the classic 101 Dalmatians villain. Disney has been tight-lipped about the set or plot details before the debut of the trailer, it is known that Cruella will happen before the events of 101 Dalmatians. It may be set within the 1970s London fashion scene. Cruella is only a couple of months out from its May release date, the release of the teaser and the movie was able to give fans a great tease of what is about to come.

Cruella will be released on May 28, 2021.
