The report claims that Black Widow 2 is in its very early stages but nothing has been finalized. Apparently, the reason why Marvel Studios wants Omega Red is because they want mutants to enter the MCU. Omega Red being in Black Widow 2 will be a way to introduce him to the franchise.

Even if the rumor is still unverified, it is a compelling thought as Omega Red has a Russian background. In fact, some fans who know about the character in the comics speculated that Omega Red may appear or be mentioned in Black Widow due to his Russian connections.

Omega Red is a character that has been co-created by artist Jim Lee and writer John Byrne for X-Men No. 4 back in 1992. Omega Red goes by the name of Arkady Grigorievich Rossovich. Arkady can emit lethal pheromones called the Death Factor which can kill anyone within the vicinity. He also has the ability to heal fast.

Black Widow will be released on July 9, 2021.
