This is large because of the profit participation clauses that are included in their respective contracts. This allows them to earn a percentage in the box office returns. The first Captain America trilogy garnered over $2.2 billion in the box office. Chris Evans’ upfront salary began from $300,000 in The First Avenger to $15 million for Civil War. This is further proof that Mackie’s pay would rise, in addition to the fact that he just came off from the successful Disney+ series.
